WRECK SPECIALTY
Ships, airplanes and even cars are fascinating to explore and usually teem with aquatic life. Each wreck dive offers a chance for a new discovery.
The PADI Wreck specialty course consists of the following:
Safety considerations for navigating and exploring wrecks.
Surveying and mapping a wreck.
Using penetration lines and reels to guide exploration.
Techniques to avoid kicking up silt or disturbing the wreck and its inhabitants.
COURSE STRUCTURE:
Minimum Open Water Dives: 3 on 2 wreck sites.
While maintaining proper buoyancy control, identify and avoid potential hazards.
With a buddy, map a wreck (or portion of a wreck), determining the approximate size and marking points of interest.
Demonstrate the deployment and retrieval of a penetration line, for practice, on the outside of a wreck, while working in buddy teams.
Plan and perform an actual wreck penetration under the direct supervision of Gwen.

Requirements:
15 years old at time of course.
Dive quality mask, snorkel & boots.
