You don’t have to be “advanced” to take it – it’s designed to advance your diving, so you can start right after earning your PADI Open Water Diver certification.
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course consists of the following:
You’ll plan your learning path with your private instructor by choosing from a selection of Adventure Dives. There are two required dives – Deep and Underwater Navigation – and you will choose the other three, for a total of five dives.
Choices of Adventure Dives will include:
Wreck
Peak Performance Buoyancy
Drysuit
Night
Delayed Surface Marker Buoy
Boat
Fish Identification
During the Deep Adventure Dive, you will learn how to plan your dives to deal with the physiological effects and challenges of deeper scuba diving.
The Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive will refine your compass navigation skills and help you better navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time.

Must be a NITROX certified diver.
Dive quality mask, snorkel & boots.
